The hotel was perfectly situated for my travelling to and from work in Gateshead for the week. The room was very spacious and was always clean every evening when I returned from work. The staff are all friendly and helpful and the extensive menu in the restauran is excellent. I will definitely be staying here again when I am next working in Gateshead

The music coming up to the bedrooms from the bar/restaurant may be a little intrusive for some people although it did not bother me. Breakfast on a Saturday is not served until 8.00 which is the time I needed to be at work.

Relaxing location, comfortable hotel and quiet in the stable block.Restaurant had wide range on menu.

I paid for an executive room but apart from being larger was no different to standard rooms.

Clean, confortable, well priced, quiet location in site of Angel. Room was a double bed and larger than booking info

Wasn't over keen on food, only had one meal and chip fat needed changing and steak under cooked.

Enjoyed our stay, very clean, and staff friendly

The Hotel was clean and tidy and appeared to have had a reecnt development and upgrade which was well thought out and tasteful. The rooms were good and the restaurant value for money. Only down side was a slightly noisy party being held at the Hotel which did stop at a reasonable time but after 7 hrs driving to get to the Hotel both myself and my wife wanted an early night. We wanted to attend Gateshead Athletics Stadium which was nearby and easy to get too. All in all we enjoyed our stay Thankyou.

It was close to the motorway and although close, no noise from the street. Value for money.Room and bathroom were modern and clearly re- vamped.Friendly staff at reception.

Breakfast was slow; waited too long. Smelly bathroom; no window only extracter fan. Noisy on the Saturday evening due to a party or wedding reception downstairs. Could have warned guests. Loud music until 11.00pm right underneath our room. To avoid this, try not to stay in rooms 4- 14.

    Staff were very friendly,

Our room was above the staff exit to the kitchen bins and smoking area and was very noisy, the room was also very very dark with the smallest window I have ever seen, we asked for another lamp which was supplied but we only had 2 sockets in the room so we were constantly un plugging it to put the kettle on or charge our phones up. Breakfast was average and the breakfast room was uninviting as it was so quiet no music, no atmosphere, and was full of workmen who were obviously staying over and the language being used was floor level, I did give a couple of glances over to say that I had heard them but it made no difference, we booked in for 3 nights and did not have breakfast for the remaining 2 days... We wouldnt stay in the hotel again.

Room 18 was just what was wanted. On opening the door to our room we saw the Angel of the North through our bedroom window, the reason for our journey to the area. The staff were very friendly, available when required for information (and knew the answers) and the room tidy. At the end of the drive were bus stops for buses to Newcastle and Durham, which we used. We did not need our car for the four days we were there.

The menu might have changed, although there was a variety, after five or six nights you are back to the beginning.

The hotel was extremely clean and the bedroom was all newly fitted. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The location was superb - in the countryside, yet still very close to Newcastle and just off the a1. Masses of car parking space and a warm and welcoming restaurant and bar. I would certainly stay there again and recommend it most highly.

The staff were excellent - especially Katherine who was very helpful and friendly. I would definately come back.

There was a wedding reception at the hotel. They said we had been put in the Stable Block to make it quieter but people from the wedding were also staying in the Stable Block and they partied until 4.00 am which meant we had no sleep. It would appear that the staff made little effort to quiten the revellers. I would not recommend staying at this hotel if there is a function on.

Very clean, easy to find. Nice hotel.

Service at breakfast time was very slow, it took 33 minutes for the waitress to acknowledge me. The hotel was lovely but more staff was required for breakfast service. This was the only let down.

All staff were very helpful and accomodating. This was a surprise wedding evening booking for my friend !! The staff from the Angel arranged the champagne, rose petals and Strawberrys!! The manager gave me the best room in the hotel for my friend. My friend has had a difficult time recently as she lost her mother to cancer!! The Angel made it very special for her and her new husband. Thank you to all at The Angel View Inn, Ms J Y
